Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Zanussi Refrigerator.
Temperature Regulation
The temperature inside the refrigerator and the star compartment is regulated by a thermostat with 6 temperature positions. Position 1 is the warmest, and position 6 is the coldest. Adjust the thermostat to suit the room temperature, how often the door is opened, and the amount of food stored. The intermediate setting of 3-4 is usually sufficient.
Defrosting
To defrost, push the conveyor completely in, place a tray on the upper shelf, remove any food from the star compartment, and store it in a cool place. To accelerate defrosting, place a bowl of hot water inside the compartment. Once defrosting is complete, dry thoroughly and remove the water collected in the tray.
Internal Cleaning
Clean the inside and accessories with warm water and bicarbonate of soda. Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger. Dry thoroughly.
External Cleaning
Clean the external surfaces with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive products.
Condenser and Compressor Maintenance
Once or twice a year, dust the condenser (black grill) and the compressor at the back of the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner to prevent dust accumulation, which can affect performance and increase electricity consumption.
